Components made of platinum and platinum alloys are being used more and more widely in glass-making in order to meet the increasing demands on both product quality and productivity.

The use of platinum clad equipment for the manufacture of optical glass has long been commonplace. Cladding with platinum also offers clear advantages for many other areas of glass processing, e.g. in the container glass and TV glass industries.

The application of platinum coated components guarantees a uniformly high glass quality and substantially increases the service life of the equipment.

Platinum and platinum-rhodium alloys are most frequently used as materials for linings. Dispersion hardened DPH materials are recommended for extreme thermal and/or corrosive conditions.
